Download Anti Tear
A free download for Windows. Install it on your gaming PC, and its setup gets your capture card ready in about 30 seconds.
Install it
- 1
Run the installer
On your gaming PC, open Anti Tear Setup.exe from your downloads and follow the steps.
- 2
If Windows protects your PC
The installer isn’t signed with a publisher certificate yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say “Windows protected your PC”. Select More info, then Run anyway.
- 3
Set up your capture card
Anti Tear opens and its setup finds your displays, checks which one is the capture card, sets the best refresh rate it captures, asks what to show and runs a 15-second tear test. Your display settings are saved first, so you can put them back any time.

Sign in and press Start
Press Start, or Ctrl + Shift + F9. The first time, sign in with Discord in your browser and your 3-day free trial starts, no card needed.
What you need
A Windows gaming PC
With a spare video output on its graphics card. Anti Tear runs here.
A capture card
In your streaming PC: one that shows up as a display in Windows when it’s connected to your graphics card.
An HDMI cable
From the spare output on your graphics card to the capture card’s HDMI IN.
On the streaming PC
Nothing to install. OBS captures the card as it does now.
If the card runs faster than 60 Hz, open the capture card source’s Properties in OBS and set Buffering to Enable: Auto leaves it off for most cards.
The rest of the OBS settings that match your card’s mode are in Anti Tear’s Streaming PC checklist, at the end of setup and on the Output page.
Updates
Anti Tear checks for updates a minute after it starts and every 6 hours.
When one is ready, install it from the notice on Home or from Settings › Updates. Anti Tear closes and opens again to install it, and never while you’re projecting.
Every update is signed. Anti Tear checks the signature against a key built into the app and refuses an update that doesn’t match.
See what’s newUninstalling
Open Windows Settings › Apps, find Anti Tear and uninstall it.
Uninstalling doesn’t cancel your subscription: if you have one, cancel it first in Anti Tear’s Settings › Account › Manage subscription. To put your capture card back on the display mode it had before, select Restore original display settings on the Output page before you uninstall.
